Seven #TPHTrained Players Selected in 2018 NHL Draft

DALLAS – The Total Package Hockey staff is proud to congratulate our #TPHTrained players who heard their names called at the 2018 NHL Draft.

Seven players with TPH ties were selected by NHL franchises during the two-day draft at American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Stars.

“We are incredibly proud of these players,” said TPH CEO Nathan Bowen. “To be at the Draft and to hear their names called, it was an emotional experience. They have earned this moment, to be in the brightest hockey spotlight one can have at that point in their career. It’s another step in the journey, and it’s a big one for them. We know they will continue to work and train and use this past weekend as a jumping point for even better moments in their hockey careers.”

For the first time, players from the Total Package Hockey Center of Excellence were eligible for the NHL Draft, and four former CoE student-athletes were claimed – Bode Wilde (Birmingham, Mich./New York Islanders), Blade Jenkins (Jackson, Mich./New York Islanders), Christian Krygier (Novi, MIch./New York Islanders) and Cole Krygier (Novi, Mich./Florida Panthers).

“We spent every single day with these players when they were with us at the Center of Excellence, and we couldn’t be happier for them,” said TPH Director of Player Development Brandon Naurato. “The time and effort they put in, on and off the ice, set them up for this special moment that most hockey players can only dream of; we’re so happy for them and their families right now.”

Three other players who participate in TPH programs were selected, as well, in the 2018 Draft – Alec Regula (West Bloomfield, Mich./Detroit Red Wings), Jonathan Gruden (Rochester Hills, Mich./Ottawa Senators) and Paul Cotter (Canton, Mich./Las Vegas Golden Knights).
