50+ Total Package Hockey Alumni Attend 2026 NHL Training Camps

More than 50 Total Package Hockey-affiliated alumni attended NHL training camps this past week, representing 26 NHL organizations. From Detroit to London, TPH alumni attended camps across the league, including the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, and Edmonton Oilers.

The group includes alumni from across U.S. and Canadian TPH campuses and competitive experiences, including the OHL Cup, MHA, and TPH WSI. Several contributed early preseason performances, scoring goals, recording assists, and earning recognition from their NHL teammates.

Anaheim Ducks: TPH Detroit alumni Cutter Gauthier and Corey Schueneman attended Anaheim’s camp. The Ducks announced a six-year contract for Gauthier on September 16.

Buffalo Sabres: Josh Doan and Josh Norris represented TPH at Buffalo’s training camp.

Calgary Flames: Hunter Brzustewicz, an alumnus of TPH Detroit and TPH Waterloo Region, attended Calgary’s camp.

Carolina Hurricanes: Jalen Chatfield of TPH Detroit attended Carolina’s training camp.

Colorado Avalanche: Gavin Brindley attended Colorado’s camp.

Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar said he’s been impressed by a number of players throughout the early preseason, including Brindley.

“I noticed Brinds [Brindley] right away,” Bednar previously said to NHL.com when asked which players stood out to him from the first preseason game. “The competitiveness, the speed of the game, his skating – he’s quick all over the ice. He was relentless on pucks. I put Taylor Makar in that same category. They both end up scoring, too, because of the same type of thing: quickness, effort [and]competitiveness. And for me, Hughes kind of stood out, especially on the power play. Smart; just moves the puck with great timing to the right guy. Made a bunch of offensive plays. And Nabokov was great in goal, too…Blackwood was really good, too.”

Columbus Blue Jackets: Max McCue of TPH London and Zach Werenski of TPH Detroit attended Columbus’s training camp.

Detroit Red Wings: Five alumni attended Detroit’s camp, including Jacob Bryson, J.T. Compher, Andrew Copp, Alex DeBrincat, and Dylan Larkin.

Edmonton Oilers: Josh Brown and Brady Stonehouse attended Edmonton’s camp alongside Alec Regula, who represented TPH at the OHL Cup and through MHA.

Florida Panthers: John Beecher, an OHL Cup alumnus, and Matthew Tkachuk of TPH Detroit attended Florida’s training camp.

Los Angeles Kings: Henry Brzustewicz of TPH Detroit attended Los Angeles’s camp.

Minnesota Wild: Three TPH London alumni, Hunter Haight, Olli Määttä and Michael McCarron, attended Minnesota’s training camp.

Montreal Canadiens: Lane Hutson of TPH Detroit and Nick Suzuki of TPH London attended Montreal’s camp. Hutson contributed a goal and two assists in Montreal’s 4–3 overtime preseason win over Toronto on September 19.

Nashville Predators: Hunter Skinner of TPH Detroit attended Nashville’s camp.

New York Islanders: Bo Horvat of TPH London and Joey Larson of TPH Detroit attended the Islanders’ training camp.

Ottawa Senators: Lucas Ellinas of TPH Waterloo Region joined Dylan Cozens, Christian Kyrou and Ryan Suzuki of TPH London at Ottawa’s camp.

Philadelphia Flyers: Cole Knuble of TPH Grand Rapids, Travis Konecny of TPH London and Jack Studnicka of TPH Detroit attended Philadelphia’s camp. Knuble recorded a goal and an assist in the Flyers’ September 21 preseason opener against Washington, helping set up Studnicka’s opening power-play goal before scoring in the second period. The two TPH alumni accounted for both Philadelphia goals.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Tyler Duke and Rutger McGroarty of TPH Detroit attended Pittsburgh’s camp alongside Nick Robertson.

San Jose Sharks: Alex Nedeljkovic and Jacob Trouba of TPH Detroit attended San Jose’s training camp.

Seattle Kraken: Jared McCann of TPH London attended Seattle’s camp.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Jarred Tinordi of TPH Detroit attended Tampa Bay’s camp.

Toronto Maple Leafs: Easton Cowan and Matthew Knies attended Toronto’s camp. Cowan earned recognition from Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews, who named him a preseason standout on September 24 and noted his progress.

Utah Mammoth: Lawson Crouse of TPH London attended Utah’s training camp.

Vancouver Canucks: Paul Cotter and Max Sasson of TPH Detroit attended Vancouver’s camp.

Vegas Golden Knights: Nic Dowd of TPH Huntsville attended Vegas’s training camp.

Washington Capitals: Cole Hutson of TPH Detroit attended Washington’s camp alongside Boone Jenner and Jordan Kyrou of TPH London.

Winnipeg Jets: Kyle Connor and Connor Hellebuyck of TPH Detroit attended Winnipeg’s training camp.
