Overspeed Power Skating Program
This program concentrates on the most valuable hockey skill “SKATING”. Skating technique will be broken down into simple steps focusing on skating efficiency. Skaters will be challenged every session with qualified instructors concentrating on balance and agility, speed, explosive power and stride efficiency. Serious players only need to attend this program with Tier I AAA, Tier II AA, A and House Select experience preferred.
Advanced open to players born: 98, 99, 00, 01, 02
This program will focus on breaking down all skating skills and re-enforcing proper technique. Players will be put through challenging drills that will emphasize stride efficiency, proper body and stick control, balance, agility, explosive stops and starts, lateral Movements, overall speed and acceleration and much more. Throughout the program instructors will target player’s technique as speed and game specific drills are incorporated. Our goal is to first teach players proper skating technique and second to incorporate speed and explosiveness in order for players to perform game specific challenges.
Elite open to players born: 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97
This program has been designed to refine players stride and focus on speed and explosiveness in all areas of skating. Once the fundamentals have been reviewed skills will be performed at high speeds forcing players to concentrate on body positioning and skating technique. Students will be taught various concepts such as explosive turning, pivoting, forward and backward lateral movements, v-quick starts, quick backward starts along with a variety of high tempo game situational drills incorporating these skills. Players will leave with a better understanding of what their body and feet should be doing while performing skating movements. Our goal is to educate these players on why and how the body moves during skating in order for them to continue practicing and improving their skating stride, technique and overall speed.
